International Astronaut Panel

12 July 2010 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm

The Astronaut Panel is a long-standing highlight in SSP sessions since many years. The objective is to give the participants of the session a direct occasion to ask a broad range of questions to a number of astronauts in an interactive mode. In order to have a large diversity, the astronauts are selected on the basis of different backgrounds (medical, piloting, engineering, scientific) which allows for a broad variety of complementary answers. Also, in principle, the astronaut panel is composed of astronauts from different organisations which allows to have different insights and opinions, especially comparing intensive short-duration flights with long-duration stays on board of space staions (such as MIR and ISS).
